another Stevie 2x4 furniture book! I like this lady and her friend's designs they come up with and how they talk/write to me like we are best old friends. I have 4 of her books and have enjoyed them immensely. I don't do much wood working, but I have made at least 4 or 5 items from each of her books. This book has a really nice pine bed foot and head that I am going to make and of course a couple of different tables. My only complaint is that I live in the middle of the country and not down in Florida where the neat fishy style tiles can be bought like what she uses. Now some say her cut lists are wrong. Study what she says and you can fix whatever is off, I say.
This books is full of plans and instructions for making furniture. It's a bit more sophisticated than Henderson's previous works in terms of the finished products, but they're still fairly easy for a newcomer to pull off. The problem I have with Henderson's books is that they're all titled "2x4 furniture" something or other, but there are only a FEW 2x4's used in this entire book. Not one piece of furniture made entirely...or even predominantly of 2x4's. The real theme is making furniture out of standard lumber and prefab elements that are readily available at retail stores.
My brother loves these books and makes things from the book.
Wonderful, simple book, which replaces one I had in storage and was ruined.
This book has only a few projects. If you are looking for a beginner book this isn't it.The projects that it has are good ones, just not very many.
Cool designs. Not too advanced, so a novice or mediocre wood worker could produce them...
nice little starter projects a little advansed for sum maby
