I know it says workbook, but I didn't realize there would be pages for each day so one could write their opinions or feelings about how that day of writing went. Maybe that works for some people but it was not helpful for me. The resources in the book are good.
It offered a great framework for finishing NanoWriMo in 30 days, however I'm confused why it claims to be specifically geared towards the romance genre as it covered nearly none of those elements.

As another review has said, this is not in any way specific to the romance novel.Note well: the romance genre is HIGHLY formulaic. Publishers look for novels that cling to that formula. The formula varies depending on what line you are writing for (or reading), and a book that supports that formula would be much more helpful. There is such a book (I think I still have in in electronic format) and frankly a close adherence to that formula is essential for publishability. Depending on the line you are writing for you might, for example be expected to have a sex scene in chapter five (how explicit and how frank the language depends on the publisher and the line of novels). If your sex scene falls in chapter four or six...you are screwed. The rejection slip is on its way. If the line requires a break-up in chapter 24 and a reconciliation in chapter 26 you must adhere or no contract will follow. Without a specific outline and without a guide to help, you will be adrift. I am currently trying to find a hundred or so copies of the genre to augment that electronic guide.Without a firm grasp of the formula, you will simply not publish.
Had the book had a different title I would have given it 4 star. The exercises are good, but not romance specific.It's a so-so resource
